Your Move

Company Information:

Your Move is the largest single estate agency in the UK. With a national network of nearly 300 branches, a number of which are franchised owned, they have excellent market coverage.

Your Move was recently awarded Franchise of the Year in the Negotiator Awards.

Background:

Overview first started working with Your Move back in 2003. At the time Your Move wanted to explore the possibility of dividing the UK into as many viable areas as possible. Utilising the existing store information would prove paramount in dictating the required contents and characteristics of a territory. Despite a criteria being defined, after detailed discussions it was decided that working on a case by case basis would prove to be the better option for the development of the franchise network. This would allow for territories to be created that would cover natural neighbourhoods and ultimately be better franchise propositions.

Solution:

As a result of the eventual chosen route for territory creation Overview became the supplier of a number of map solutions for Your Move. Initially this manifested itself as a hard and soft copy map for use within the franchise agreement. Alongside this a bespoke poster sized wall map was created for each franchisee for display in their office or assist with planning/marketing. Your Move later decided to add on the web solution that Overview offers to provide a central location to view all of their territories in one system, and possibly more fundamentally, aid the process of creating new areas around the existing network.

Maid 2 Clean

Company Information:

Maid2Clean has been providing high quality domestic housekeeping, cleaning & ironing services to thousands of private residential householders since 1993. The services provided range from one-off spring-cleans to the more common regular weekly cleans.

Maid2Clean are a full member of the BFA and were a finalist in the Franchisee Support category at the 2012 bfa / HBSC Franchisor of the Year Awards.

Background:

Maid2Clean wished to exploit a window of opportunity in 2002 by being one of the first domestic cleaning models to enter the franchise market. It was felt at the time having the UK divided immediately would ensure that any enquiry could be dealt with as soon as it came in. This method, Overview refer to this as their Turn Key Solution, would ensure the maximum number of territories could be created without interference from potential recruits, who might try and push for more area to be added, when it wouldn’t be necessary.

Solution:

Overview consulted with Maid2Clean with regards to this and produced sample areas to ensure territories would be sized as expected. Once agreed the entire network was created and a postal database with the demographic / household material was provided to supplement the map element. This provided Maid2Clean with the tools to demonstrate the territory extent and demographic content to prospective franchisees. Overview continue to work with Maid2Clean to assist with extraordinary territory adjustments and the production of laminated poster sized maps for franchisees.

Wiltshire Farm Foods

Company Information:

Wiltshire Farm Foods are the UK’s leading frozen meals delivery company that specialises in delivering frozen ready meals to customers’ homes throughout the United Kingdom. The majority of the business is operated on a local or regional basis by approximately 70 franchisees. Uniformed drivers in liveried refrigerated vehicles deliver pre-ordered meals to private clients, who typically are aged over 70. Established in 1992 the company is owned by Apetito and currently supplies services to over 200,000 customers.

Background:

Overview started working with Wiltshire Farm Foods over 10 years ago. The initial remit was based on a Turn Key Solution with the territories created to be heavily weighted depending on their core market (people aged over 70). Wiltshire Farm Foods were also keen to use Overview’s skills and services to produce maps and data to assist franchisees with understanding the exact content of their territories and help focus their marketing.

Solution:

Overview developed a franchise territory network for Wiltshire Farm Foods that in the main is still being used today. Outputs were produced when the initial division was completed and Overview continues to maintain the network’s territories and provide maps and data for the client in various forms. In recent years Overview has helped to create a series of analysis maps to show each franchise areas best and worst performing sections. Wiltshire Farm Foods occasionally request bespoke pieces of analysis to be done to assist with strategic planning, using data that they have collated and Overview help them visualise this.

Water Babies

Company Information:

Water Babies is the UK’s leading baby swim school, teaching a core skill to thousands of babies & children every week which can potentially save their life.

Water Babies began back in 2002, thanks to Paul and Jess Thompson who were inspired by how much they loved taking their own daughter, Imani, to lessons. Since then it’s grown to become the world’s largest baby swimming company, teaching more than 32,000 children each week across the UK, Ireland and Sydney, Australia through a network of 51 franchisees.

Background:

Once Water Babies decided they wanted to use franchising as a means to grow their business, Overview were tasked with helping them to develop a network of franchise territories. The initial requirement was for 2 individual areas to be created in order to satisfy the keen initial recruits. Following on from this Water Babies realised that they would likely require the entire UK to be mapped out so that potential future enquiries could easily be dealt with.

Solution:

Overview utilised specific demographic data based on what provided a demand base for the business to succeed, along with potential site locations for classes, to develop a UK wide model. This framework would provide the basis for all future territory allocations. Overview then provided the postal breakdown with associated demographics for each territory along with a series of maps to depict the division. Overview continue to work closely with Water Babies by dealing with ad hoc requests and have also helped with the mapping of territories in locations outside of the UK including Madrid in Spain and areas of Australia.
